Body Control Pilates
Body Control Pilates is excellent for improving posture, increasing joint mobility and strengthening core muscles, and is particularly useful for backpain sufferers and those returning to exercise after a break.
Body Control Pilates is based on 8 principles - relaxation, co-ordination, alignment, stamina, concentration, centring, breathing and flowing movements. Core stability is achieved and maintained through increasingly complex movement sequences.
Over time, Body Control Pilates can help to reshape your body which will become longer, leaner and more toned. It will also improve your posture, achieving a good balance between strength and flexibility.
The exercises are performed in a variety of positions from lying on your back, standing, side lying, sitting or four point kneeling. Each position challenges your strength and stability while increasing your mobility. Small pieces of equipment are used in the classes such as resistance bands, weights or foam rollers - all equipment is provided for your use during the class.
The classes are small and friendly, and suitable for all ability levels, complete beginners are very welcome.
Classes take place at the village hall (meeting room) on Wednesdays 9.30-10.30am or 10.45-11.45am

I teach a Hatha flow style of yoga with a Ying and Yang influence., trained extensively in the UK and India bringing a rich diversity to the style of yoga I teach. I have been practising yoga for 18 years and teaching full time for five.
I have studied the maharishi teaching of transcendental Yoga for 10 years incorporating the study of the ancient Yogic text, the Yoga sutras Upanishads and the Bhagavad-Gita.
My aim is to pass on the benefits of Yoga in a safe and inclusive manner. My sessions are fun and challenging, including Asanas (postures) pranayama (breath work) and yoga nidra (deep relaxation) to promote holistic well being, strength and flexibility of body, mind and spirit.
